It douses the mesh underlays that make up the base layer’s build along with the suede overlays that are seated next to the throat and make up the mudguards. To balance the presentation out, the New Balance designers tossed reflective accents to the collars along with gray hints towards the laces, interior liners, N logos and the “990” branding that is stationed on the lateral heels. Mesh tongues — which host New Balance spell-outs — also add to more flair thanks to their charcoal fillings. Down below, the chunky sole piece splits between white in the forefoot and muted gray in the heel to round off its look.
